Trance music has always been a part of my life journey. It was the first favorite genre of music I was introduced to at the age of 3 from my father, and has also been an incredible part of my healing journey—from the first artist I fell in love with, Robert Miles, to Paul Van Dyk, early Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Chicane, Solarstone, and Above & Beyond. Growing up, these soundscapes were my refuge through moments of loneliness, bullying, and being cast out for my culture and identity. This genre of music brought me support, presence in my emotions, and the ability to reach for euphoria through the body and heart.
